Raksha
Known Aliases: Mother, protector, ‘Raksha the Demon’
Rank: Peacekeepers
Alignment: Freedom Fighters (Neutral Good)
Gender: Female
Age: 8 years
Personality:
Raksha is above all, motherly, in every sense of the word. She deeply cares and loves those closest to her, and considers any who are close to her as family, being sure to show them love and care whenever she can. This also makes her protective of those she is close to, willing to fiercely protect them from any possible dangers that may arise.
Time has made her wise, noble and rational, thinking things through before making final decisions. Never jumping into anything that could cause her or her family severe harm without giving it proper thought first, often remaining quiet until she must speak. Raksha is very careful, about her life and her decisions, although she will fight for what she stands for she will often opt to not fight or having something turn dangerous.
Raksha is also very accepting, although she believes in laws she is not overly strict about their presence or about enforcing them. She prefers to keep her mind open to options and experiences and tries hard not to have closed off thinking.
Backstory:
Raksha grew up as a member of the pack, one of many siblings and one of many pups within the pack. Learning the ways of the jungle and the ways of the pack, doing her best to make her pack and parents proud of her. She spent much of her childhood learning, anything and everything she could from anyone who was willing to teach her. Gaining friends amongst other animals within the jungle during her younger years. Bonding with her pack and siblings, and those who were willing to spend their time teaching her.
Upon reaching her teen years Raksha got very into the laws of the land, protecting those closest to her and gaining a very motherly instinct over everyone within the pack regardless of age. Using that knowledge, she’d gained to help make the best decisions she could, while her emotions still ruled her mind and swayed many of her choices. Developing her fierier, behaviour during these years as well.
Once she reached adulthood Raksha had taken on a lot of responsibility, with her more rational mind and accepting behaviour allowing her to gain a more elevated position within the pack.
Eventually she found a mate, Rama, a rather placid male who didn’t hold a high rank within the pack but he treated Raksha right and loved her quirks and personality. Many within the pack said Raksha had settled, and she was inclined to agree but she found herself loving him regardless. When her first litter was born and he became a very active parent Raksha knew she had made the right decision, he did her duties to the pack well but he was also willing to spend plenty of time with her and the pups, raising them and entertaining them. Letting her have a little more freedom outside of being a mother.
When her second litter was born, Raksha was more than willing to just let things continue as they had been. But when Bagheera came to her with a man-cub, Raksha knew her life was going to be different now. Rama accepted the new son right away, much to her relief, as she too had bonded to the boy with quickness and ease. Akela, the alpha, was sceptical of Mowgli’s presence within the pack but Raksha had assured him that she and Rama could handle him and would train him in the way of the wolf, with Bagheera promising to train him in the ways of the jungle.
But when Mowgli reached a certain age things started to get harder, he was too much of a man and not enough of a wolf, and it was starting to create and strain tensions within the pack and within the entire jungle it seemed. Especially when Shere Kahn returned to the jungle, reluctantly she agreed with Akela and Bagheera that Mowgli had to be returned to the man village.
With an emotional goodbye not being possible, as Mowgli didn’t seem to understand what was happening exactly, Raksha was never able to tell him just how much she loved him and would miss him. She was never really told what happened during that time when Bagheera was trying to take him back to the man village, thankfully, because if Raksha had known all the trouble that occurred she would have been all over him. It didn’t help that she was a den mother at the time, caring for another pack member’s young pups. The stress alone would have driven Raksha mad.
Raksha was informed when Mowgli did eventually make it to the man village, seemingly happy to be amongst his own people and learning the things he’d been trying to all on his own.
When the war started Raksha paid it no mind initially, but when Mowgli and several of her friends went off to fight in it Raksha decided that she had to follow them. She had to keep those she cared about safe, if that meant fighting in a war then Raksha decided she could live with the consequences.
