Naturally a happy child, Kula loves to play games and prank other animals. Some of these pranks tend towards an almost malicious streak in how far they can go, but due to Kula's role as Scar's firstborn and current heir she fails ever see true consequences for her actions. Because of this she isn't fully aware that she does in fact go too far.
Kula loves her dearest daddy more than anything and is his spoiled little princess. Her love has made her malleable to his whims and his machinations turned what once might have been a strong love for her mother and maternal half-brother into a deep hatred and feeling of inferiority.
Kula's biggest wish is to make her mother pay for not giving her the love she was due and to see Simba die. Only then will she be satisfied in his punishment for ever daring to steal her mother's love away from her.
Backstory:
After Sarafina was believed to be dead Scar took on the lionesses Sarabi and Zira. Using them to vent his grief and rage he later found himself the lucky father of two cubs. Kula was his firstborn and the favored of the two, being born healthy and to a mother who -- while not supportive of him -- at least failed to make his skin crawl with her obsession.
Kula loved her mother deeply at first as most children do. There came a time however that she noticed something. Lionesses would occasionally mention another cub, some 'Sibma' or other. A dead son her own mother had born. Sarabi's face whenever she talked about him was different. At first Kula couldn't put her paw on why... But eventually it hit her. Sarabi's smile was off. It wasn't that she was sad talking about Simba -- it was the only time she was happy. She never had the same spark when caring for her own self.
Feeling a heavy weight deep in her gut the cub began to take her nights with her father, crawling into the embrace of his paws with quiet sniffles and questions that only he seemed to be able to answer. Sarabi loved her, he admitted, but Kula was right in suspecting that she was only second best to the dead cub that Sarabi mourned. She was stuck in the past, too much of a fool to see the perfect little girl that was in front of her. Instead she fixated on a boy she could never have back.
Kula grew detached from her mother and pridesisters as a teen. Her only true solace was her father, his mate, and her half-brother. Only they didn't scorn her for her father's blood in her veins.
Naturally when it came time to choose a side Kula followed her father. Who else would ever allow her to fit in?
