Personality: Esmeralda is an outspoken and passionate person. She believes firmly in justice and freedom, and will use any method she sees fit to protect those ideals.
She distrusts formal law structures, as they can often be corrupted and twisted. However, this doesn't mean she has a disdain for government and law. In fact, she knows basic law is necessary to protect people.
In spite of her fiery nature and outspoken mannerisms Esmeralda is at her core a kind and patient individual. She treats many of the downtrodden with care and gentle encouragement
Backstory: Esmeralda was born to small impoverished gypsy tribe that was slowly dying out. Her blood parents despaired for they couldn't provide for their daughter a proper life. However, traveling through the area were the king and queen of a more prosperous tribe. Her blood parents pleaded with them to take in their daughter, and they agreed.
And so Esmeralda became Esmeralda Trouillefou, the adopted child of Moses and Penelope Trouillefou.
Esmeralda has few memories of her parents and old tribe. Sometimes she had dim recollections of whispered lullabies and green eyes like her own. But those were few and far between. She didn't lament this loss, however, because her life with her adoptive family was a full and happy one. She especially loved her big brother Clopin who would tuck her in to sleep with silly puppet shows, and taught her to dance. Dancing became one of the greatest joys of her life.
However, Clopin and Esmeralda's parents met their demise some years later at the hands of Judge Frollo and his guards. Leaving Clopin with the hefty weight of not only his parent's rule, but also being Esmeralda's primary caretaker. Even though she was young, Esmeralda knew the weight her brother carried. She wanted to help unburden him as much as possible and pushed herself to be more independent.
Esmeralda learned many skills and tools to get by as a persecuted gypsy, and to be of use to her brother Clopin, but what she excelled in most was the art of disguise. With a shift in posture, change of costume, and careful accent, Esmeralda was capable of transforming herself into a completely different person. She honed this skill and to become an excellent spy and informant for the Rogues.
