Personality: This androgynous warrior is known for her trademark stoicism. She speaks little, only when necessary. This isn't born of any shyness, merely her own nature. Coupled with her silence is an often expressionless face. This can make people uncomfortable as it makes her nearly impossible to read or understand. However, this is no guise or mask. She has no ulterior motives. Hikaru is plain spoken and honest. She is straight forward and blunt. This is merely who she is.
Hikaru has an almost inhumanly high pain tolerance born from a life of combat. She bears life's trials and tribulations with the same silence that she is known for. She has been compared to a robot, and perhaps there is some accuracy to this statement. Hikaru is so simple a being that she has difficulty understanding when her own emotions. However, perhaps with patience and understanding some one could get under her shell and help her explore the stunted personality that must lie beneath.
Backstory: Hikaru was an orphan taken in by a japanese man employed by a criminal organization. He had been unable to produce an heir with his late wife. He had known her late parents, and thus felt obliged to adopt her. Though she may not be of his blood Emori Haru decided to make her the heir he and his wife never had.
Haru trained her in combat almost as soon as Hikaru could walk. He was stern, strict, and some may argue abusive, but he molded Hikaru into a powerful force. Though her life was difficult, Hikaru loved her father and followed his teachings devoutly. She knew she had been adopted, even if Haru had not told her, her Caucasian features, so different from his Asian ones, made it obvious enough.
Though Haru has trained Hikaru in the ways of combat in his family's teachings, he had no intention of putting her in his dangerous line of work. He wanted to protect her from Bill Sykes and his dark and dirty employment. When the war between the factions broke out, Bill Sykes found it highly profitable to throw his lot in with the Blackbloods. Suddenly Haru found himself suddenly shifting occupations from hitman to soldier.
After that, well, one could argue that Hikaru was cursed. For the second time in her life she found herself an orphan when Haru was killed in the war. All his efforts to protect his heir, his daughter, were for not. Sykes immediately drafted Hikaru. She had no choice. She was forced into the employment Haru had tried to keep her from all along.
She became a killer.
She hated it.
Hikaru had always been a quiet and introverted child. But now she turned even more inward in the face of what she was being forced to do. Dampening more and more of herself everyday. But something had to give. And it was her. She was ordered to interrogate an enemy soldier. By torture if necessary.
She could not do it. She couldn't do any of it anymore. She released the prisoner, helped them escape, and went with them. She defected from Sykes and the Blackbloods. She helped the prisoner return to the Freedom Fighters, and requested to join them. However, her history as an enemy, and worse a traitor to her own faction, put her on shaky ground to say the least.
She was accepted, but on a very tight leash under a probationary period.
