Bagheera was sitting on the branch of a tree, tail overhanging a corridor between rows of tents. He had just came out of a meeting with his supervisor, concerning his role in the army and what his line of work would involve. He was just ready to settle down for a nap, thinking about how relieved he was that at least no one from the jungle was here for him to worry about.
Just as he was dozing off, an odd scent caught his nostrils and made him wake up with a frown. That couldn't be right. He elegantly dropped down from the branch and began following his nose around one of the tent corners, there he was met with a set of footprints in a patch of muddy ground. They were human, and not fully grown, but...as far as Bagheera had seen, every human here wore shoes, and these prints were barefoot. They were not made by a gorilla or baboon as there was no handprints, yet the smell was distinctly forestly.
By the spacing of the tracks Bagheera could tell the culprit had began to run, maybe he had realised the panther was following him. He trotted forwards following the scent now that the mud had gone, and found it stopped at a large tree standing by itself. His quarry was no doubt hiding in the branches again.
Bagheera sighed, trying to keep his anger in check, and tapped his paw impatiently on the ground staring straight ahead. "Mowgli..."
