July 4th - Early Morning- Cadet Training - Open to all
It was little past sunrise when the young (mostly) cadets of the Freedom Fighters were roused from their beds to begin training. There was no sleeping-in when it came to fighting in a war, after all. Many of the little ones weren't bright eyed and bushy tailed. No, if anything they were bleary eyed and droopy tailed. Those of them that had tails anyway. Not only did Hikaru Emori not have a tail, she was also one of the few who was alert and at attention this early. She was accustomed to waking early and sleeping lightly, so this was par for the course for her. The Peace Keepers who were working also seemed to either be accustomed or growing accustomed to the early hours. Hikaru looked over to the yawning cadets. She may be standing with them, but she was still apart. Not only was she the oldest one, but she was also a stranger on probation. A defector from the Blackbloods. No one trusted her. The only reason she even had been invited to a training session was because her previous battle experience could be used as an example to help teach the others. She doubted she would get a weapon. She hadn't earned that trust yet. Her eyes flicked forward, away from the others. She wondered who would be the teacher for today's training session. She wondered what was in store for her...

It wasn't too often that Tug decided to sit down and watch a training session or two, but for some reason today a little bug had nipped him in the hind leg to go check it out. Tug didn't like to consider himself a violent bear, in fact he was quite the opposite if things could be settled without a fight that would be great but life simply wasn't like that. It didn't work in a gentle stream fashion, much to the soft old bear's wants for it to be like that. Animals, humans, they all fought over stupid things like territory and food. Not to mention hunting spots, but that was a whole 'nother mess that Tug didn't want to even think about!
Either way though, the point was, he was a peaceful bear when it came down to it; and well the thought of training kinda made the old bear a bit sick in the stomach. The thought of animals and humans purposely maiming each, not to mention kids being caught up in the middle of that mess, just didn't sit right with him.
Still though, the old bear plopped down on the sidelines watching the cadets start to filter in. At least if he was here he could patch up any accidental injuries.

Two sets of paw steps pattered against the dirt trail leading to the area that the Freedom Fighters had set up as a training ground. Kiki let out a small yawn, but was otherwise bright eyed and bushy tailed. The same could be said for her apprentice, Cassie. The Labrador pup practically bounced with every step as the two dogs headed to meet up with the rest of the cadets and mentors.
"You look quite cheerful this morning, kōhai," Kiki chuckled. This wasn't saying much, as she was almost always chipper. Cassie let out a tiny bark of a laugh, giving a shrug as she looked over at her mentor. Kiki was probably the only person she'd met who she didn't need to crane her head to look up at, in fact, with the way Cassie was growing, she'd soon surpass the Shiba in height. "I'm just looking forward to meeting and training with the others, there's a lot of other Cadets I haven't gotten to know yet." Her tail swayed back and forth as she spoke. Kiki only nodded her head in amusement.
When they reached the group, Cassie ran over and sat down with the rest of the cadets, while Kiki hovered nearby, looking around for who was leading the training this morning. Cassie looked up at who she was sitting next to, seeing a human, which made her tail wag again, "Hello! I'm Cassie, what's your name?" She didn't seem to be aware that this girl was the one who had once been a Blackblood who was on probation, or she simply didn't care. She just wanted to make new friends.

Hikaru turned to look down at the pup that was one of the few vibrant and excited cadets. She hadn't expected to be spoken to, much less so cheerfully at that. The probationary cadet wondered briefly whether it'd be more polite or condescending to kneel down to the Labrador's height. She decided to stay standing. "Hikaru," her voice was deeper than average for a woman, but gentle. There was a brief moment of silence before it occurred to the cadet that it was only polite to return the question, "Yours?"

Though he had history with the French Army, however brief, Cogsworth didn’t see himself as a competent fighter. He was far happier being the head of household, stressful as the job often was. He was also firmly sure he was dismally out of practice, it being about twenty years since he’d left the army. Yet, if there was one thing he always tried to be, it was useful.
Unsurprisingly, early mornings were nothing new to Cogsworth. Today, as he’d recently become aware, was a training day for the Cadets. Did he really believe he was the most appropriate person to show up? No. But, as a Peacekeeper who was given no orders otherwise and nothing else to do, he thought he might as well poke his head in. Upon arriving to the training field, he saw that there weren’t any other Peacekeepers aside from himself. Cogsworth recognized the large bear as one of the medics as he crept out into the open. He knew that the animals of this army were his friends, but his tense expression gave away his misgivings about his approach.
A sudden rush of feeling as if he really did not belong here hit him and prompted him to cough awkwardly from his place on the sidelines.
~*~
The digital creature revealed himself silently: even footsteps propelling him across the field. Bittersworth did nothing to alleviate the silence, not saying a single word. Aside from his appearance being that of an upright bird-lizard thing, he didn’t do anything to force attention onto him. He knew he had a certain degree of authority and that he had experience in terms of fighting, but he wasn’t the sort to try and take charge of a group. Besides, it looked like everyone was busy getting acquainted. Who was a lowly beast like him to interrupt?
Bittersworth chose a spot and stopped walking. He turned around so he can look over the Cadets.

The new medic yawned widely. She usually woke early, but coming to the Sarengeti had been one heck of an endeavor and she had been up late. She hadn't even finished unpacking before collapsing on her cot for the night. She could have slept in, but then her whole day would be thrown off. So Rapunzel of Corona slogged out of bed, put on a rumpled dress, and asked where she could find " Tugson ", the only other medic here currently. She trotted off barefoot towards "the training field" and "Look for the bear". Which was pretty easy, actually. "Hi, are you Tugson?," Rapunzel asked before yawning again and added a small 'sorry'.She didn't realize that her hair was still standing up in odd angles from her bed head, or how incredibly wrinkled her dress was. She looked like a child that had been roused early for school... Which actually wasn't too far off.

It didn't seem to take long for people to filter in, first it was two dogs, then another human, and then some sort of creature and then yet another human. Seemed like the show was gonna finally get on the road, Tugson still had his doubts about being at the training session but he didn't let his mind dwell all that long on it. He smiled at the others as they showed up, waving a hardy paw in greeting. "Hey y'all!" He greeted happily, it wasn't hard to notice Cogsworth's tense expression after a second.
Tug kneaded his big brows together in confusion before offering a smile to the human, not showing his teeth of course. He didn't want to scare the other even more. He wanted to make him feel welcomed if anything.
"Easy fella, ain't no one gonna hurt ya here." He reassured though his attention was very quickly grabbed by another. Big brows lifted and his mouth opened ever so slightly as the human woman came over, asking him a question to which he responded to happily. "Why yes I am," He smiled. "You must be, uh, Rapunzel am I right? You're the other medic. It sure is nice to meet ya." He offered his paw to her. The concept of handshaking was still odd to him, but he knew humans found it polite to do.

The lost princess of Corona nodded with a little bob of her head, and then stretched out her hand to meet Tugson's paw. It was so large she wasn't sure what to do, maybe pat her palm against his? Ah-ha! She gently grasped one of his claws and shook that way. Rapunzel didn't seem too afraid of the large bear. He was friendly enough! Her friends at the Snuggly Duckling had taught her that just because some one was big and burly didn't mean they didn't have a gentle side. "That's me!" Rapunzel was quickly regaining her usual pep, though she still needed to rub a little sleep dust from her eye before continuing, "But, I think I'm kinda more like a medic-in-training? I don't know anything about anything really! I was told that I should talk to you."She smoothed out her skirts and then settled down besides Tug to look out on the training field. Her eyes quickly lost all sleepiness as they widened in curious awe at the figures before her. So many different kinda of people! Humans and animals and- and- and things she hadn't ever seen before! Instead of overwhelmed she felt... excited! "What's going on right now?" she asked energetically pointing down at the training field.

The short man quickly shook himself back to his senses.
“Ahh ha ha ha,” he chuckled quietly, “Of course. Ha ha.”
Having spent several years having to deal with the Beast, Cogsworth couldn’t say he never had experience with large and scary creatures. Still, he was never completely at ease around the Beast. He found it was better to expect and prepare for the worst. Whether or not this mindset did him any favors is debatable.
Clearing his throat resolutely, he turned to look at the training field for a while, holding his wrist behind his back.
“It would appear the Cadets are just getting acquainted for the time being,” Cogsworth observed, “No one’s given them any orders yet.”

The pale lab's tail wagged casually as Hikaru introduced herself, and Cassie nodded with a smile when asked her own name. She must not have heard her say it the first time. That was fine. "Cassie. It's nice to meet you Hikaru." She turned her attention away for a few moments as more persons arrived, a couple more humans, and a... well, Cassie wasn't really sure what the creature was. She wondered when they would be starting training. Probably not until all the cadets had arrived, and it looked like a few were still missing. She then turned her attention back to Hikaru, hoping to make a friend that morning. "What do you think they're gonna have us do today?"
Kiki meanwhile, had sat silently, watching and listening as the medics conversed. She felt no real need to but into their conversation. However, when the girl with short brown hair asked what was going on, and the shorter human replied, she decided to add her own input, "I think we are simply waiting on the peacekeepers who will be teaching today, and any students who are lagging behind?."

Tugson's smile never seemed to fade, allowing Rapunzel to shake his claw before giving a nod. Large brows raised a bit as she explained herself and he patted her shoulder as gently as he could with his massive paw. Making sure to watch out with his claws. "Well that's alright, sweetheart. You'll be just's a good as medic as me soon enough. I can teach ya everything I know. Would you like to come with me later to gather up some herbs?" He questioned curiously.
As she asked what was going he went to answer but Cogsworth cut in. He gave a nod in agreement. "Yeah, seems pretty laid back right now. Think were waiting on one of the higher ups or something. I don't know though, I ain't never been to one of these to be honest." He moved to scratch under his chin with his claws. "This my first time actually." He set his paw back on the ground, looking at all the cadets that were gathering. He could of sworn there weren't this many the last time, that or he just wasn't paying attention. Huh, weird.

Simba had been up since the crack of dawn, with thoughts of training weighing down on his mind. He’d never actually trained anyone for war, because the Pridelands had been peaceful for so long. If anything, Kiara and Kion only knew how to fight because of their own situations that they had been caught up in. But as their leader, he was obligated to hold a training session…right hand man or not. Aladdin had been gone for a while, at a time when Simba was still getting used to the ropes of commanding an army. Sure, being a king was no issue when most everyone could take care of themselves. But now, there were many lives that actually depended on him. “I’m glad to see that some of you guys have made it. I’m guessing that most of us aren’t too awake yet.” Simba said, with a warm smile. The turnout wasn’t as large as he had hoped, but then again, some of his soldiers had defected to the Rogues, and whoever else was left was presumably still asleep. He caught the eye of Hikaru, their newest recruit. While Simba didn’t fully trust the former Blackblood, the other council members had urged him to give her a chance, that they needed all the help they could get. “Let’s get started. If others show up, they can just jump in.” Simba said, with a shake of his mane. “For those of you who aren’t medics, you’ll be sparring with each other. In battle, sometimes your enemy will be much larger than you, or smaller. The purpose of sparring is to come up with ways to beat your opponent, even when the odds are against you.” “As for the medics, you’ll be doing a scavenger hunt. It’ll help with search and rescue operations for wounded soldiers on the battlefield.” ----- The wolf felt strangely out of place, even though this group was of all different shapes and sizes. They seemed to all be introducing themselves and getting to know one another, while she stayed off to the side, observing their interactions. When it came to anyone who wasn’t Fleur, Céleste was a little nervous about how she was supposed to act around others. Eventually, she gave in, and decided that getting to know her fellow Freedom Fighters wouldn’t be as bad as she was making it out to be. “ Bonjour.” Céleste said, with a bow of her head.

Jasmine woke up as the cadets were pulled out of bed. Things had been pretty quiet for the Freedom Fighters lately so she was not subjected to the pressure of helping maintaining an army, though she knew better than anyone to be prepared for any trouble that may come up. While brushing her hair, Jasmine decided to watch over the training process. So she went out to the training field and saw Simba addressing the cadets.
"Good day, sir." the princess said, bowing to Simba as she approached him with a warm smile. "I just came to observe the training of our cadets. I suppose it's time I get to know them more anyway."
Jasmine was pleased to know the training seemed to be going well, though there were a few things that troubled her. She did not expect the training to begin this day, which led her wondering if it was because of approaching conflicts or if Simba had decided to take action against the Blackbloods or the Outsiders. The thought of a war coming worried Jasmine, as she had hoped to use her council member status to emphasize on diplomacy over military force. But wanted to reclaim Agrabah through any means.
"Simba...sir..." Jasmine sighed, standing beside her leader. "I have to ask, have you ever felt like despite all your abilities, you can't help but feel your goal is too high to reach?" she asked, as she was interrupted by Persephone suddenly showing up on the field. The princess raised an eyebrow at her eccentric behaviour.
