July 6 | Open to Clopin’s assassins(Sherekhan , Nala , Chaara ) . This takes place at night. For those of you who want to respond with what you had before so that we're all brought up to speed(prior to Owen's entrance), you can find the old thread in "Scrapped Threads".
Now that the court had officially closed for the night, the king drew a deep breath, and slowly slid down in his throne. The gold crown upon his head was starting to cause him a little bit of a headache, and he decided to take it off, swapping it with his much more comfortable hat. He then stood and stretched his stiff arms and legs, as he hadn’t moved much in the past few hours.
Listening to even more people hem and haw about various occurrences was worse than just listening to the complaints of his own people. At least he knew them and cared a little more about their issues. These people were still his people, but by Mahomet’s beard, he did not usurp the throne to hear complaints about a stolen goat. He had sent out Dante a while ago to fetch a few of his Rogues, for a special assignment. Tonight would make up for the boredom he’d endured.
As he descended from his throne, a memory of the old king came to him. It was a shame how he’d been killed, but Clopin figured it was only a matter of time. The previous king knew he’d been playing with fire, and as fire tended to do, it burned him.
A sudden noise tore Clopin out of his reverie, and he turned to see a familiar person approaching. The gypsy king smiled, as Taylor bowed her head in respect.
“So, “special assignment”, huh?” Taylor asked, with a smirk. Clopin chuckled, and readjusted his cloak.
“I suppose you could call it that. The truth is that I have selected you, among several others, to be my personal assassins.” Clopin said. Taylor’s eyes went wide for a moment, as she let it soak in that she would be an assassin.
“Bob must’ve told you about our previous…adventures then.” Taylor said. Clopin shook his head, and pointed to her hip, where her dagger sat in its sheath.
“I saw how well you fought with that dagger of yours. Your control and mastery is unlike any other. You even managed to not injure your sparring partner.” Clopin said.
“Well, that’s a pretty neat compliment, coming from the King of France himself. Careful though, I might try to kill you.” Taylor said, as she nudged the king's shoulder playfully. Clopin couldn't help but roll his eyes and chuckle. She would definitely be an interesting character.
“So…where’s the others?” Taylor asked, resting a hand on her hip.

Slow but long strides carried the tiger through the night and towards the court. Every movement of his sturdy form guiding him closer to the looming shadow of a structure before him. His single golden hue glimmered like a jewel whenever the slightest shimmer of light cast across it.
Snow kissed toes halted for a moment against the cobblestoned paths, a silence toe seeming to tap against the ground as he took in the sight of the building before him. He couldn't help but wonder how man created such detailed things, made with their own palms. It confused and bewildered him, yet brought a form of awe to the old beast.
He shook his head, casting away his wondering thoughts before he moved to entered the building. Heavy steps being kept as feather light as possible, muscular but lethal form sliding through the shadows as though he was a part of them. He came to a halt between the towering columns. Watching the exchange between Clopin and Taylor for a while longer.
At the question of where the other's were Khan couldn't help but lightly shake his head. Seemingly gliding out of the darkness and behind the young woman. "The other's are coming...I'm sure they won't be 'tardy' if that's what you're worried about, Miss 'Ruse'." He turned his gaze to Clopin, shifting his weight to his other side.
"What exactly is this meeting about?"

Chaara finally made her way into the throne room and examined it with interest. It reminded her of ancient human ruins she once saw in her old jungle, except this one was more active.
She slithered forward next to the tiger, Shere Khan, determined to make a good first impression for the king. However, she was not entirely sure she could cooperate with the tiger, he seemed quite threatening. Then again, looks can be deceiving.
"So this is our base of operations? I must say, I was hoping for more trees, but this will do as well." Chaara commented politely, circling around Clopin's feet without touching him. "So...how may we serve you? Do you need protection or someone eliminated?"

A middle aged woman entered from a side door. She carried a serving tray with two carafes, one of wine and one of water, and several glasses and bowls. She looked tired, and a bit harried. Her auburn hair was tied back in a net covered bun, but there were many loose fly away curls, and her plump frame boasted many a child birth. It was also obvious by her tired eyes and weary gait that she had, had a long night. She scuffled her way up to Clopin and then held forth the tray, "Wine or water, M'lord?" Then looked to Taylor, who must obviously be an important guest, "M'lady?"And that's when the tiger showed up. The poor woman's eyes grew as large as the serving tray she held. She had never beheld such a large creature. Okay, okay, she had seen horses, yes. But this was most DEFINITELY not a horse. Well... now she knew why she had been told to bring glasses AND bowls. "M-m- M'lord???"And then the snake showed up. The largest snake this woman had ever beheld. She nearly keeled over right then and there. It said something over her professional nature as a serving woman, that the tray barely shook. She couldn't even ask the snake if it - she? - wanted wine or water. At this point, all she had left were squeaks.

“I honestly don’t care if the others are late, I just wanna get things started.” Taylor retorted, in response to the tiger’s comment. She narrowed her eyes at the old beast, but there wasn’t much she could do. A young woman with her small frame would never be able to challenge a Bengal tiger.
That was basically courting death. Now, that wasn’t a novel thing for her, but if she wanted to actually fight in this war alongside Bob and Sophia, she figured that she had to play on the safe side for now, and not piss off her new teammates.
She then watched as Chaara slithered in, and she couldn’t help but stiffen just a bit as the snake came towards her, and then over to Clopin, settling by his feet. As a kid, Taylor loved reptiles, but huge snakes like Chaara were a little off-putting for her, simply because of their size.
Clopin bowed his head towards Khan and Chaara in acknowledgement.
“Once the others arrive, I will be discussing the purpose of our meeting tonight.” Clopin said, gesturing towards the open door to the throne room. Before he could say yet another word, a tired middle aged woman came scurrying in from a side door, offering them tea. He politely declined, and had to hold back a laugh as the poor woman squeaked at the sight of Chaara, unable to speak.
“Ma chère, there is nothing to worry about. Chaara is an ally to us, she means you no harm. Why don’t you go home for the night? Unless of course, you’d rather stay here.” Clopin said, flashing a knowing grin towards her.

The former queen of pride rock was the last to arrive, she’d been keeping to herself for the last few days, or was it weeks? Nala couldn’t honestly remember, she’d been spending her time taking in the sights and sounds of Paris. She had to admit that it was beautiful in its own strange way, Nala had even found herself drawn to the lavish jewellery that everyone wore here. She would have to ask for some, for when she was just hanging around and not doing something that required stealth. She’d noted Shere Kahn and Chaara heading for the king, and knew that now was her time to appear and follow them. Lions weren’t silent, they were quiet and she had spent many years learning to be quiet but she still made sound as she entered the space and padded towards everyone. She held her head up and maintained composure as she walked up to Clopin, gazing only briefly at the others who were present. She turned finally once she stopped to face the rest of those who had gathered, “King Clopin, Taylor, Kahn, Chaara.” Nala greeted them by name, then her gaze settled on the stranger amongst them, an older woman who seemed to be serving drinks. If she needed to be introduced Nala would wait for it, but until then her priority was on the meeting. “Apologies for being slightly late to this little meeting, you have a wonderful kingdom Clopin and I found myself lost in it.” Nala spoke to the king alone now, following the others in saying a brief word to the king before she quietened herself to hear what he had to say next.

"I-It's alright, M'lord," the serving woman mumbled, tearing her eyes away from the more outlandish of their guests. The matronly woman was nothing if not a professional. She prided herself on that. The serving woman decided that keeping herself busy would be the best answer to her nerves. So she promptly began pouring drinks. The ornate bowls she shyly placed before the more animal like of the guests. Her gaze was kept carefully down turned and subservient. Her posture oozed 'oh please, don't eat me.' Then she stepped back into the shadows behind the throne to remain as unobtrusive as possible until some one needed further refreshment or some other need attended to. That was her purpose for the meeting. So that others wouldn't need to be bothered to retrieve certain needs, and to limit the number of listening ears as possible. She was an old serving woman who's daughter had married a gypsy. She was known to be trustworthy and loyal.

"As you wish." Clopin said, deciding to let the old woman be.
My, you're taking your time with this disguise, aren't you? Clopin thought to himself.
Suddenly, another presence graced them in the form of the former Queen Nala, who padded past the others and towards Clopin himself. She told him that he had a lovely city, and he couldn’t have agreed more.
“It is quite easy to lose yourself, but we are glad you’re here.” Clopin said, with a bow of his head.
“Now then. I have chosen you all to become my personal assassins. As you know, there are many threats to our city that reside outside of our borders, not including those associated with our war. Tonight, our target is the British ambassador.” Clopin said. With a wave of his hand, his scythe appeared in a cloud of purple smoke, gently floating in the air until Clopin wrapped a gloved hand around it.
“My mission for you four is to eliminate him. Make sure he can never harm others again.” Clopin said, his expression growing dark.
