Talos Gwyn Mograine
Known Aliases: The Forsaken Knight, The Cursed Knight, The Fallen Hero, Forsaken Hero, Servant of The Horned King, The Cauldron Born
Rank: Undead Lich Knight
Alignment: Chaotic Evil - Formally Lawful Good - Blackbloods
Gender: Male
Age: One Hundred and Twenty Four (Died at the Age of Twenty Four, his Undead state has maintained the prime of his fighting youth.)
Personality:
If there is one aspect to note about Talos Mograine, it is the fact of how genuinely quiet he is around people, and only speak when he is either commanded to speak, or when spoken to directly. During the days back when he was alive, Talos was known to be calm, cool, and collected of his surroundings, especially with the people who he associates with.
Alas, those days amongst the living are long gone, upon having risen from the grave as an Undead Knight, even he is on constant watch, and with having been forced against his will to bear the responsibility to hunt down and destroy the enemies of The Horned King, regardless of the Lich himself being dead!
Remarkably, Talos somehow maintains a small shred of humanity left, that of being once a man of Virtue and Honour, refusing to strike down an unarmed opponent in the heat of battle. Though the long years of being stuck between the realm of life and death has made the once proud Knight to be... Cold to his once noble views of combat.
To one and all, whosoever invokes the wrath of Talos Mograine, is one who has sundered the fury of The Horned King himself. No longer possessing the living traits of a man who'd hold back from a fight, Talos upon the battlefield is where he truly shows just how terrifying he can be.
Backstory:
Depending on the tales you wish to learn, there are two stories to be told about Talos Mograine. On one hand, there is the story of the man since the dawn of his birth: Talos Mograine, son of Trevor Mograin and Marine Gwenda, a young boy who would eventually prove himself to become a Hero of his country. Alas, there is other tale that has earned him both fame and fear throughout the Land, the Hero who had fallen before The Horned King and rose from the dead as his Champion... The Forsaken Knight.
The Story of Talos Mograine is a long and detailed tale, one that is rarely spoken, and is a reminder to all who tread on the path of heroism be warned of the consequences of saving a Nation. For this is a story that does not have a Happy Ending.
Born to a mere woodcutter family, of humble and simple origins, Talos had a rather pleasant life with his mother and father, helping them with the responsibility to tend and cut down the trees of the forest within the Lands of Britain, and creating fine planks of wood for the army which would turn into arrows, ladders, and other resources for one single purpose: War.
It came to no surprising mention that Talos had the most unusual birth defect which grew into fruition once he became older through time, his muscles eventually became strong and immense, and he towered over his parents in height! Whilst although such a defect brought him the benefits of his strength and able to carry much more than the average person, such traits always did have a drawback.
For starters, Talos could no longer reside in small, cramped areas and buildings, riding on a horse became trouble due to such weight, and in terms of speed, he always had trouble with keeping up with other people. Sadly, Talos would no longer be able to live with his parent forever, for his home was raided by daring Bandits, their bodies ripped and dismembered to much of his dismay.
Rage and anger spewed forth within the young man, which by the time the soldiers arrived to investigate the situation, all they could find was blood splattered all over the Woodcutter house, with the interior being completely demolished, and the bodies of bandies being literally torn to pieces and at the center was Talos who ripped a Bandit's head clean off from his body with one hand.
Given the time and scene that had taken place, it was no wonder that he was arrested and taken in as a prisoner to be questioned as to what happened. After explaining the situation, and the evidence to back up such claims, Talos was pardoned for his crime, but had nowhere else to turn to. That was until he soon discovered the destiny that was before him... A Hero.
Seeing how his size and strength could be put to good use, Talos Mograine set out across the Land making a name for himself defending the innocent, striking fear to the soldiers of darkness, at last Talos had the chance to change his life around, and even the soldier's who witness the scene back at his former home were amazed to see how the man changed his life around so quickly of the vast years that passed since his arrest.
The King of Britain honoured Talos's Heroism from across the Land, rewarding him with titles, fame and honour bestowed upon a Knight such a him, and for the next several months. He finally lived a life of peace.
However, peace has always been a relative short term. For within the land of the west, heading towards Wales, there were rumours of an ancient Castle old as time itself, that belonged to a new evil that rose: The Horned King. The rumours were spreading of how this villain planned to raise the immortal army of the dead to take over the world.
Talos Mograine rode on horse to the castle and confronted the Horned King, defeating his vast soldiers of barbarians and other foul creatures of the night. Talos wasted little time and declared a challenge against him in single combat. Their battle along was to be sung by the bards of such bravery to save a nation. It looked as though the Champion was winning the fight that lasted for hours!
But before the final blow was struck, The Horned King was the first to deliver the fatal blow that had caused Talos to fall to his knees, and with the Horned King rose from the floor he was the one to strike Talos down.
Knowing his plan will takes many years to redevelop, The Horned King took his vengeance upon Talos and transformed his body, mind and Soul to be like him: a being between the realms of life and death... An undead Lich.
Talos slumbered in the castle necropolis amongst the vast dead corpses of fallen barbarian warriors he had slain, and it was to be a hundred years later, when the castle collapsed, and the Horned King used the power of the Black Cauldron, the fallen Hero rose from the Dead, along with the rest of the Cauldron Born.
Now the risen Undead Knight, a shadow and corrupted husk of his once heroic self, having been brought back by the ancient powers of the Black Cauldron, through the dark and terrible deeds of The Horned King, it has granted Talos new purpose in life.
Let this be a race, for all to see who shall claim Talos Mograine amongst their forces as a prize. For whoever has The Undead Knight amongst them, will have the power and strength of the Forsaken dead, one who in particular is a skilled swordsman in battle.
