Maxwell Radius
Known Aliases: Max
Rank: Peacekeeper
Alignment: Freedom Fighters
Gender: Male
Age: 33
Personality: There's no doubt Max has charisma. He's humorous and clever, using these strengths to his advantage even when the heat is on. Max isn't often lost for words; no matter how afraid or depressed he is, he'll continue to make snappy quips. In fact, this may be the only defense he has. He has a rather unfortunate tenancy to let his troubled mentality show through with all-to-frequent self-depreciation. Max is also extremely shy around people, to contrast with his outgoing and charming persona whenever he's hidden behind a microphone. He'd rather he never actually have to meet anyone face to face. Max might seem like an adorable cinnamon roll, if a bit shy, but he has some less than sweet habits: prone to being self-concerned, dishonest and gluttonous.
Backstory:
Max was born to a not very well-off family in New York in the late 50's. Max was never the most popular kid in school, although, thanks to his natural sense of humor, he was never completely shunned. Being both the class clown and the geek meant his place in the social hierarchy was complicated. He was also not what he would consider "a looker". His jokes and wit were appreciated, but not his hobbies or his appearance. In order to win the approval of his peers, he invented a persona for himself, basing his mannerisms and speech off of the films of the 40's and 50's that he enjoyed.
In his teenage hood, he discovered his passion for communication technology. He used his meager allowances to buy cheap and broken radio units he could tinker with. He quickly became learned in radio technology and broadcasting, beginning to air an amateur radio station at the age of 16. In adulthood, he became isolated and even more anxious about face-to-face interaction. Due to repeated comments relating to the worsening cataract in his right eye and his crooked teeth, Max became that much more reluctant to show his face.
What truly cemented him in his hermit-like lifestyle was his eventual realization of his orientation. Fearing further ridicule should he ever be outed, Max tried to cover up his attraction to men in spades. Eye-contact made his abysmal lying even worse, so Max decided he would stay in his apartment and commit to his radio program. One can only assume he planned to stay there for all eternity, but he was evicted for being unable to pay his rent. In search of a roof over his head and a way out of New York City, he signed himself onto the Freedom Fighters.
Known Family: n/a
Notes: Given a choice, he'd be more geared toward technical type work (especially in communications) rather than being combative: assuming the Freedom Fighters have much electronic equipment that is.
