B.E.N.
Known Aliases: N/A
Rank: Cadet
Alignment: Freedom Fighters/Chaotic Neutral
Gender: Male(in character, at least)
Age: Unknown, but likely very old as he was stranded on Treasure Planet for at least decades without means of recovering his memory.
Personality: He is unpredictable and hyper, and has on many occasions gotten himself in awkward or even dangerous situations because of his tendency to act before thinking. Being a robot, his personality can be changed in one programming keystroke, but his friend and owner Jim Hawkins never considered it, as he grew to enjoy B.E.N.'s personality as it is. His ex-employer, Captain Flint, also enjoyed this personality setting, as it was efficient to have a robot that was unpredictable, at least if you were a hardened space pirate like him. Flint also made sure B.E.N. was rather dim-witted, as he knew that if he had a robot that was smart enough, it would figure out how to betray him.
Backstory: B.E.N. was a navigator for various spacers in the galaxy, though in between purchases he was always reset and thus had no memory of them. His most "memorable" job was as Captain Flint's navigator, and helped coordinate his heists. When Captain Flint stored his stash on Treasure Planet, he removed B.E.N.'s memory chip and abandoned him so that he could keep his hoard secret. Much later, B.E.N. was discovered by Jim Hawkins during John Silver's attempt to take the hoard, and Jim made it a priority to restore B.E.N.'s memory in order to find the treasure before Silver did. B.E.N. and Jim were captured, however, and forced to lead John Silver to the treasure. Upon arriving and restoring his memory, B.E.N. was too late to remember a trap that Flint had set in the treasure chamber, and treasure planet was rigged to self-destruct. After a narrow escape thanks to the heroics of Hawkins and Silver, B.E.N. was reprogrammed to be a cook and waiter at Hawkins' inn, and was later programmed to search for John Silver himself, thanks to Jim's curiosity of his father figure's whereabouts.
Known Family: He considers the Hawkins family his family, but can't shake a desire to find his long-forgotten creator, assuming they are still alive, that is.
