July 10th | Open to ALL Blackbloods! This is the first official training session. This will extend out to the desert past Agrabah’s borders, just so you all know.
The grand vizier couldn’t help but maliciously smirk, as his shadow towered menacingly over the kul that he had chained up in the dungeons below the palace. A skeleton of a previous prisoner hung from its shackles, its empty eye sockets seemingly watching the exchange between the captor and the captured.
“Your time has come to pay for your crimes.” Jafar hissed, as he jerked the man out of his chains. The man yelped in pain, before slowly wobbling into a standing position. Jafar switched the man’s handcuffs with a different pair, and began to lead the kul out of the dungeon, and up the spiraling staircase that led to the main floor of the palace. Jafar hummed a macabre funeral tune as he walked, and unfortunately for the kul, he recognized it, and he felt chills run up his spine.
Wherever his captor was leading him, it would not bode well for the prisoner.
-----
Previously, Jafar had asked Nasira to gather the Blackbloods in the throne room, so that when he returned, they would be there. And sure enough, as he and the kul rounded a corner, his Blackbloods stood, waiting patiently to hear what his “special” announcement was all about.
Jafar ascended up the steps to the throne, before giving a swift kick to the back of the kul's legs, causing the man to pitch forward towards the ground, knees first. Jafar held his arms with the handcuffs, gesturing to the man as he addressed his legion below him. His eyes shone with an unusual level of malice, one that would strike fear into any enemy’s heart.
“My dear Blackbloods, what you see before you is a lowly kul. He is nothing more than a war prisoner, idiotic enough to let himself be captured. I did plan to have him rot in our dungeons below like many other prisoners before him, but this man…is special.” Jafar announced, sneering at the prisoner.
“I’ve decided to give this poor excuse of a human being a chance to be free. However, there is a catch.” Jafar said, as he raised his scepter, striking the man in the shoulder.
“Stand up!”
The man groaned in pain, as he stood up once more, ready for Jafar to knock him back down.
“Your training session will commence as soon as I release our prisoner here. Your assignment is rather simple. It will be a test of endurance and speed. Hunt him down, and bring him back to me…dead.”
Jafar then released the kul, and the man took off running for his life…literally.

Nasira wound her reins around her fist and mounted. She picked a good, fast horse, a solid courser. The kul's body must be raw and aching. It had been difficult to see a patch of skin that had not been scraped, and his deel had been reduced to dusty rags that quivered in the breeze. But, he ran all the same, hobbling like a wounded animal, nearly doubled over with pain and weakness.
The prospect of a hunt had put a fire in the necromancer's blood. She took off, digging in her heels and sending her mount surging out of the akıncılar's stable.
In the crisp teal-orange rays of dusk, Nasira reached an oasis and dismounted to set up camp, choosing a small clearing, well hidden in the undergrowth. She was sore from riding all day, hungry and her thoughts were cold, slow-moving things. But, her path was set.
She knew just as well as anyone that a runaway slave would have been vulnerable in the desert, even if he only moved at night. He could be seen miles away, and there could only be one outcome. There was only one place he could go, and that was the oasis. There were plenty of trees and bushes to hide in, water to drink and small game. The others would have reached the same conclusion. While Nasira waited for them to catch up, she sat down on a gentle slope and zoned out.

Ice blue eyes had watched the husk of a human as he was released into the desert. There was very little chance of him getting away alive, the only glimmer of hope for the kul would possibly be a swift, merciful death. Mystic, despite living her whole life up until this point as a pet, was still a very large, very dangerous tiger. This was a good chance to hone in on the hunting skills that she lacked growing up.
The white tigeress had followed several strides behind Nasira when her owner set out on horseback. For some reason, despite her having gone through many owners, and knowing full well the magic user could easily deal with any threat, Myst found herself feeling the need to watch over Nasira as her pet and companion. She watched ahead of her as Nasira dismounted her horse and started setting up a stake-out. An oasis seemed like a good place to wait, since the Kul would need to find water sooner or later. Myst herself walked over to the clear pool and lapped at the water, her white fur catching the last few rays of sun before it set.
After having her fill of water, Myst walked over and lay down near Nasira, her gaze blinking at the necromancer, before moving to watch the desert around them for any sign of movement.

Even before the sun had risen that morning Mortaray knew something was up. It was almost as if he could taste it on the air, of course he didn't know what would be occurring but he could almost smell the excitement in the air. It was like the Blackbloods were excited hounds getting ready for a blood bath. Which turned out it would be, Mortaray had always been a pretty down to earth type of guy but he had to silently admit that ever since he came around these other dangerous individuals his typical nature had begun to change. He was much more interested in participating in the 'pack' mentality everyone had. Following along and only taking control when necessary.
Though even with the change, he still tried to stick close to Facilier. More focused on being his secondary shadow and helping him out in whatever way possible. The skinwalker had no intentions of going on without Facilier. So of course he stayed by his side, watching the Kul hobble like a wounded animal out into the desert. Everyone waited for a long while before individuals started to take off after the injured man, the hunt had begun quite quickly and Mortaray shifted his weight onto his other foot. Seemingly impatient due what could be called excitement. His arms remained crossed over his chest, but his gaze caught Perthmail and Starrick taking off after the Kul. Well this could prove to be interesting.
----------
Perthmail had been one of the first to take off after the Kul, Starrick in close second. They had kept close on his trail as much as possible and eventually it lead them to the Oasis. Where both had very gladly settled down for a few moments. Perthmail could easily deal with the heat of the desert, but Starrick on the other had didn't fair as well. Even though he could withstand higher temperatures it was still quite a sum hard on his body. So, of course, when Starrick spotted the water he immediately went over to it. Stealing a few heavy swigs of it before splaying himself out on the cool ground beside Perthmail.
Honestly the last thing Starrick wanted to do was run around after some dying man, but he was eager to impress Jafar in whatever way he could. He was determined, Perthmail would give him at least that.
A hand went to sooth back his messy hair, Perth's icy blue gaze watching the water before the sound of hooves caught his attention. He turned his head to look, soon spotting Nasira and the white bengal tiger that usually accompanied her. Well, that wasn't what he expected. He grunted, getting up before moving over to them. "Hey, you two alright?" He questioned curiously.
Starrick nearly scowled as Perthmail moved, having been using him as a source of shade. He sat up only enough to scowl over at Perthmail more before flopping back on the cool dirt and rolling onto his side. His back facing the three.

Nasira placed a hand on top of Mystic's head as they sat in silence. She frowned at the thought of the night ahead and then shrugged. She would endure it as she had found she could endure any other hardship.
She was tired and hungry, but she would not show the discomfort - not even in front of Mystic. Nasira had borne this for so many years she could not have been sure she even felt it anymore. She had suffered hunger pangs until she was tempted to bite herself for the taste of her own blood and had hallucinated from prolonged sleep deprivation. It was just a fact of life, like having men to ride at her word, or enemies to put down. Twelve hours on two swigs of water was nothing. It sucked, but again, that was normal.
"We have ground to cover," Nasira said impassively, not bothering to look up. "Our quarry may not have the means to leave the oasis, but if a good Samaritan finds him before we do, we're - oh how do I put this? Fucked." The oasis they were at was part of a trading route; merchants would stop there all the time to replenish. If one of them were to give their kul a new deel, he would be indistinguishable from the rest.
She met Perthmail's eyes. "So, I hope you have a plan."

The canine had just barely finished eating her dinner when her handler suddenly appeared before her, informing both her and Kaiser that their presence was needed. She figured her brother would be brought along by his handler, as she trotted alongside Nasira, head held high. From what she knew, this would be her first real test to show off what she had learned from the man who raised her and Kaiser. She vaguely remembered her overseas trip to Agrabah, but she distinctly remembered the nickname the man had uttered when he handed her and her brother over: the Silver Shadow. That’s what she was, and she was determined to prove it. She was brought into the massive throne room, where a man who looked very similar to Nasira stood before them and the crowd, announcing a hunt for the man in shackles. Her sky blue eyes locked on the man, and she lifted her nose, attempting to catch a scent. But before she could completely follow the mission objective, Sol realized the kul had been released, and that Nasira had taken off on horseback after him, followed by that large white tiger that had somehow eclipsed her. Sol snarled to herself as she bounded after the rest of the crowd, stopping to grab a few items wrapped in a cloth, stolen from the kitchen—food would be needed for the long night ahead. There was no way in hell that she was going to let a cat overshadow her. “She left you too, huh?” Sol’s head whipped around to find herself face to face with a beast of a horse. He was black as night, with piercing golden eyes. Corson. She’d come to know the Friesian demon quite well, as one of Nasira’s steeds. But mysteriously enough, she had forgotten him too. “I suppose. I’m just grabbing a bit of food—courtesy of the palace cook.” Sol said, with a mischievous smirk. Corson nodded slowly, looking off towards where the stragglers of their group were headed. “Let’s get moving. We don’t want Nasira to think badly of us.” ----- “We use her to track him down. I’m sure she’s picked up a scent by now.” Corson’s form came out of the canopy of trees, followed by the much smaller form of Sol, and the bag of food she carried. She immediately brought the cloth to Nasira, dropping it at the necromancer’s feet. “I thought…you might need something to eat. You looked exhausted.” Sol said, before standing by Corson once more. "He is right. I have the man's scent. He's headed south." Sol muttered.

Post by Dr. Facilier on Sept 11, 2017 5:22:00 GMT
There were few people who knew what his life was like before he had become obsessed with the idea of making rich people pay for their wrongdoings towards him and his family.
Jacques, a name he barely went by anymore, let alone responded to, had quite an affinity for animals when he was younger. A stray dog or cat would instantly become his best friend, for he never had too many. The boys in the neighborhood would leave him behind, mocking his knobby knees and thin frame as a sign of weakness.
Once in a great while, he would be able to spot a glimpse of one of the horses from the farm not too far where he lived with his mother. It didn’t take the young boy long to befriend one of the horses that grazed near the edge of the farm, enough to hop on the horse without a proper saddle and reins.
When he first rode that horse long ago, the feeling was something indescribable. That same feeling rushed past him in the cool desert winds, as he pressed his steed onward after Nasira.
Wherever that kul was, Facilier had to make sure that man was his. There had been no battles yet, and he knew the Loa were itching for a soul. And he wasn’t going to take any chances of going back to limbo.
No way in hell.
Violet eyes spotted Mortaray among the group that had gathered at the oasis.
So that’s where he went.
Facilier dismounted, and walked towards the shapeshifter, his eyes slowly surveying the others, and possible weaknesses he could take advantage of. It didn’t matter that the other had gone ahead, what mattered is that Mortaray was his key to getting closer to the kul.
“Mortaray, do you have a minute? I only need a little bit of your time.” Facilier drawled, as he wrapped an arm around the other’s shoulder, pulling him somewhat out of view of the others.
“I need your help, as much as I hate admittin’ it. You see, the Loa…they’re itchin’ real bad for a soul. And when they sent me back here, I promised them I’d get them as many souls as their little hearts desired. People die in war all the time.” Facilier whispered.
“I need to get to that man first, before any of them. He’s the key to savin’ my ass.”

The Freedom Fighters just so happened to be at that same oasis. Cadet Boso skulked through the bushes until the leaves began to thin out, and he came to the edge of the clearing. Flattening himself against the sandy ground, he crawled as far as he dared and looked out. He saw four humans and four animals in the clearing. His fur bristled. He recognized a few of them.
Blackbloods! Boso realized, his belly clenching in anger. He knew full well why they were here. It was no coincidence that half-dead man turned up at their stake out. I've got to warn Jasper!
Now to get away without being noticed. Careful not to rustle any leaves, Boso slowly crept backwards. But it was never that easy. A blue-cheeked bee-eater nestled in the brambles must have thought Boso was a predator, and the frightened bird burst out of the bush, screeching loudly.
The Blackbloods looked up. All the blood in Boso's veins turned to ice.
He bolted. "JASPER! JASPER!"

Eyes closed as Nasira placed her hand on top of the tiger's head, Myst pressing her head into her palm in an attempt to quell any worries or concerns of her owner.
Her eyes opened again when the sound of approaching persons caught her attention. The two strange men were the first ones to join them, followed by Nasira's two other animal companions. Mystic had never formally met these two, but she knew they held Nasira in the same regard that she did, and gave the two a respectful nod when they approached with food.
As the small gathered group talked, she sat there silently watching them all, blinking slowly. However when a bird burst out of a nearby bush, her head whipped around at incredible speed and blue eyes locked on the form of a small deer. The tiny prey animal bolted. Mystic was at on her paws in an instant as the fawn fled, quickly gaining ground on his tiny form as he called out to his allies. As she caught up, she swiped at his hindquarters with a heavy paw, trying to knock him to the ground and keep him from getting away.

A frown tugged at the corner of the demon mage's lips at Nasira's reaction to him. He wouldn't exactly call the two of them friends but he had hoped that they had been far past this stage of irritation; apparently though it was proving not to be that way, or at least that's what he thought in that very moment. He forced himself not to sigh, a nod occurred from him after a second in understand.
His ice blue hues cast a gaze around the oasis, a thought wondered where they should start the search for the Kul. Spreading out might of been a good idea but something told him that if they were to run into trouble that would result in some serious crud from Jafar. Especially if his sister got hurt. The last thing Perthmail wanted to deal with was Jafar hating him even more for seemingly no reason. He glanced upwards, as if silently praying or at least hoping that some god was listening and watching out for him. Gods knew he needed it after everything.
It seemed though that the pray went very much unanswered, or perhaps it was answered just with a plot to do the exact opposite of what he asked. When the screech of a bird echoed across the mostly quiet oasis, it had Perthmail's head whipping to the noise quickly. Dark brows furrowed in confusion as he spotted a fawn, he was struck with bewilderment as Mystic lunged after the young deer. However what really caught his attention was the fact that the deer cried out for someone. "Shit- Mystic wait!" He bellowed out though he went unheard, he didn't even think twice as he took off after her and the fawn. Something about this whole situation felt very wrong.

While he had been reluctant to initially follow the group, Mortaray had done so. Taking the time to get acquainted with the area, as well as possibly get a lead on their 'prey' before anyone else. Though unfortunately he was a little behind on that. He stood only a few feet away from the gathered group, and his focus really wasn't on them. He felt lost in his thoughts as he observed his surroundings but the sound of Facilier's voice immediately yanked him back into the reality around him. A small grumble of a happy 'growl' bubbled in his chest when the taller man came over, very content to have him with him once again.
It felt right, like old times so when the other asked for a minute of his time of course he was eager to agree. "Yeah, of course, Jacques." He murmured softly in response to the other's question. He let the man lead him off to the side, the skinwalker listened intently to his words. As if each one was something valuable to be held in his mind. His small sliver of a smirk didn't last long however, it slowly faded at the mention of the Loa and the need for Facilier to get a soul. It left a bitter taste in his mouth, of course he was still in service of them, he should of suspected as much. A hefty huff left him as his gaze diverted to the side.
Nothing could ever be simple and happy between them could it? Not like it was when they were boys.
He missed those times. Just like always though, Mortaray had his back. Nothing would veer the loyalty that he had for him. He gave a firm nod, turning his gaze back up to the other. "Of course, you know I'll always do what you need Facilier..." His attention had been so centered on the man that the screeching of the bird startled him, head immediately turning to look at the chaos that unfolded. "What in sam's hell?" He muttered under his breath.

It had been a hastily made decision by Simba to go to the Oasis. He had warned Simba that it may of not been a good idea, there was no telling where the enemy could be or if they had moved location but like always Simba had the final word and either he needed to go along with it or get out of the way. As much as Jasper had been reluctant to do so he went along with the plan. Heading to the Oasis with a small unit. He was ordered to simply scout out the area for supplies and any trace of enemy camps then get the hell out of there. It was simple enough as long as things went smoothly but of course nothing ever went smoothly in his life.
The first tip off that something was wrong should of been the Kul that shambled in through the foliage. The man had made Jasper's blood grow cold, seeing that he was basically nothing but skin and bones. Not to mention the fact that he seemed barely able to walk, he had ordered two of his people to escort him back to the camp while he and the rest stayed behind. He had been tempted to tell Boso to go with him but for some reason he had decided against it.
Though, of course he immediately regretted it.
The fawn's yell had his body turning rigid, for a moment he wonder if he had just been hearing things because of how worked up he was; but the moment he turned his head he saw the little fawn tearing through the brush. A large white tiger pursuing him. Blood thrummed through his ears, and anger ripped through his chest like a fire, burning strong and with violent intent. His mind went else where as he tore away from his unit, darting towards the child and the tiger.
Human form seem to phase away within a blink of an eye, the once man was on fours darting towards the two in the form of a large odd colored tiger. A roar ripped out of him, the noise would draw attention but he could not find it in himself to care in that second. Strong legs threw him forward as he launched himself over the fawn and towards the female tiger, attempting to slam his solid body into her and force her onto the ground.

Tabs was of the mindset that he only hunted when he was hungry. Even then, he took great issue with the act, even when it would save his life. He was an abomination and thought the way he disposed of prey items was, well, abominable. One could only guess at how uncomfortable this entire ordeal had made him.
Still, it was in his best interests to participate, if only to please his superiors. Not to mention, surely this adventure would provide him ample story material once all was said and done! Though, the beast was not constructed in a way that facilitated long stretches of travel. He couldn’t ride a horse if he wanted because most of them were spooked by his mere appearance. Tabs was a distance behind the others to start.
Even when he arrived at the oasis, he didn’t reveal himself. Tabs got it in his head to lay low for a bit and just observe how his allies interacted when he wasn’t around. Eavesdropping was a habit he learned from the many years he spent as a sensationalist writer. The creature sat among the broad leaves and vegetation surrounding the pool of water. He was silent but tried not to make himself out to be too sneaky. If he was spotted, he could easily claim he was just resting, right?
This was what he did, up until things burst into life quite suddenly. From his spot, Tabs leaned up and spotted the big cat chasing down a small hooved creature. And then there was yelling. In spite of himself, he made a quiet purr of interest. Swiftly after, Tabs decided now was the time to be sneaky. Though he wasn’t even slightly inconspicuous in this form, he flattened himself and turned off his monitors so the glow wouldn’t attract attention. Tabs entertained the idea of shifting into a more agile animal, but decided against it. He might need to use magic, which would be absent if he became an animal. He’d lurk for as long as he could.

Post by Nasira on Sept 25, 2017 15:31:22 GMT
"Thanks, Sol," Nasira beamed. It was just like Sol to do that. Nasira would have eaten before riding off, but time was of the essence. It was nice of Sol to think of her.
As she ate, her dark cinnamon eyes fell on Perthmail again. She did not mean to be so aloof, but at the same time, she needed him to focus on the task at hand. No one was really going to get on to her about her pets unless they pissed on something (which was highly unlikely for obvious reasons), but Perthmail was a ghazi warrior, and an overseer's purpose was to keep ghazi warriors in line by any means necessary. She felt it would be wrong to be his friend. Friends were supposed to be equals. What if she had to punish him? Even rewarding him would be disingenuous.
...still, it was not like the lines weren't already blurred. Her brother was the leader.
Her hunger was hardly alleviated when the bushes shook, and a deer sprang out. Mystic beelined after it. "Mystic, no. Come on," Nasira chided halfheartedly. "You don't know where that thing's been." Mystic had already been to the veterinarian's this week because she had apparently eaten a hedgehog.
Then it spoke, bleating Jasper's name as Mystic closed in on the tiny fawn. Jasper. That could only mean one thing! "MYSTIC, NO!" Nasira got up and ran as fast as she could.

Post by Corson on Oct 8, 2017 4:18:45 GMT
The demon stood silently, watching as Sol finally got the attention she'd been yearning for from her master. He watched Facilier talking to Mortaray off to the side, and the large white tiger that Nasira had acquired, making a beeline for the bushes. She appeared to be following a deer, but what struck the demon as strange was that it spoke. That in itself was not unusual for most animals around him, but he wasn't expecting it to scream a name that he knew. Jasper. Simba's right hand man. If that deer was a Freedom Fighter, that meant the others weren't far behind. The demon narrowed his golden eyes, and charged after Mystic, barreling past Tabs and Perthmail. He saw Jasper leaping towards Mystic in an attempt to stop her from closing in on the fawn, and with one powerful leap, he was in front of Mystic, and directly in Jasper's line of fire. He shot a blast of fire towards the odd-colored tiger, hoping that would deter him for now. "Forget the kul!" Corson roared to the others, rearing his head. "The Freedom Fighters are here!" ---- Sol was overly happy that Nasira had acknowledged her last-minute thought to bring food. Her curled tail wagged ever so slightly as she accepted the praise. But before she could say much, she heard Corson's primal roar from off in the bushes, where she had seen Mystic go not too long ago. "Nasira." Sol stated, turning her sky blue gaze towards her handler. For being in such a tense situation, the Akita was remarkably calm. But as her code stated, she would not move to make an attack unless her handler gave her orders to attack. Inside however, she was itching to join the fight, if only to prove herself worthy. ---- "This is why you're my closest friend, Mort." Facilier said, flashing his trademark gap-toothed grin. Catching up with Mortaray would be short-lived, unfortunately for them. The sudden commotion instantly grabbed Facilier's attention, and once he heard Corson announce that the Freedom Fighters had encroached on their territory, he gripped his staff even tighter, readying himself for an attack. His shadow darted out from underneath him, passing easily through the bushes and into the fray. It caught the shadow of Boso's leg, suddenly pinning him to the ground.
